Treatment Methods
Fumigation
Fumigation involves covering the residence with a
tent and pumping Vikane Gas into the property. The
complete fumigation process takes up to three days
and occupants must be vacated from the premises.
Although more expensive and troublesome to
occupants, Fumigation is the #1 method of
eliminating drywood termite infestations.

Orange Oil
XT- 2000 (Orange Oil) is a naturally occurring
essential oil containing the active ingredient
d-limonene. This citrus oil is derived from the rind
of the orange and is used in a variety of products
from pet shampoos to household cleaners. XT-2000 is
92% pure d-limonene! When injected directly into
termite galleries, XT-2000 kills termites and their
eggs on contact. Should a termite be lucky enough to
avoid physical contact with XT-2000, it can also die
if it eats any wood that has been recently treated
with the product. For more information on orange oil

Termidor
Termidor is a low dose treatment with no odor, that
can only be applied by a Termidor Certified
Professional. Termidor is a slow acting chemical
that kills termites by ingestion, contact, and the
“Transfer Effect”, meaning that infected termites
help spread Termidor throughout the colony before
dying themselves. When done correctly, a Termidor
treatment guarantees an elimination of subterranean
termites in no longer then three months. Termidor is
the #1 subterranean termiticide in the nation.

Timbor
Timbor is a safe powder based borate treatment that
is brushed onto the wood. It serves not only as an
insecticide but also as a wood preservative and
protects against decay fungi (Dry rot) |
Spot Treamtent
Localized treatment or “Spot” treatment has many
benefits to the homeowner. One being that it is much
cheaper than a fumigation. Once a complete
inspection has been performed and a determination is
established that the infestation is accessible for
treatment, then it is possible to use localized
treatment methods to exterminate the termite colony.

Thermigation
Thermigation is like fumigation except hot air is
used in lieu of gas. With this type of treatment
tarps are used only from the eaves to the floor.
The complete Thermigation process only takes a
single day which eliminates overnight move out.
Thermigation can also be used for single room
treatments by setting up thermal barriers so that
heat does not travel to unwanted areas. |
Microwave
Microwave treatment is an environmentally safe
treatment. By producing microwaves, this treatment
heats up wood through walls in specific areas beyond
the limit that termites can live. This temperature
is far below the flashpoint of wood and when a
Microwave treatment is applied in a professional
way, there is no harm to the residence.

Annual Control
Protect your most valuable investment with an annual
yearly inspection and treatment contract. Our Annual
Control contracts are the most competitive in the
industry and offer protection of drywood and
subterranean termites. At any time you see termites
during your contract just call the office and we
will be at your property to fix the problem within
the week. |

All About
Fumigation
|
Fumigation is the process where
insects are eliminated from a structure with the use
of lethal gas. Fumigations are carried out using
Vikane Gas Fumigant (Sulfuryl Fluoride) This gas is
odorless and colorless and leaves no residue.
Therefore, prior to the fumigation, applicators
introduce trace amounts of Chloropicrin.
Chloropicrin (Tear gas) has a strong odor and will
cause respiratory and eye irritation. |
Roofing Material
Damage?
|
|
Bugmasters has highly trained
fumigation technicians that use thick foam padding
sheets to walk on when fumigating a home with
fragile roofing material. This eliminates the risk
of damage. Bugmasters will even guarantee any damage
at no cost to the owner when a roof insurance
certificate is given to the homeowner prior to any
fumigation. |

|
Preparation?
|
|
1. All people, pets, (including fish
and/or fish tanks), and plants must be removed from
the home. All food and medicines should be removed
or sealed in special bags (we will provide for you ) |
|
2. Outside plants close to the
structure should be cut back from the house to allow
workers access to the walls of the building. The
perimeter of the structure should be heavily watered
to help prevent the fumigant from moving into the
soil and affecting the plants. |
|
3. Antennas, chimney caps, and
weather vanes should be removed. |
|
4. Fences without gates attached to
the house may need to have some boards removed to
allow the tarps to reach the ground. |
|
5. The Vikane label states, "Remove
mattresses (except waterbeds) and pillows which are
completely enveloped in waterproof covers or remove
covers." |
|
6. The gas service to the structure
must be turned off by the gas company prior to the
fumigation. |
Fumigant Dosage
Determination: |
|
Because of a multitude of structural,
environmental, and fumigation variations, there are
no two fumigation jobs that are identical. The
required dosage of Vikane is influenced by the
temperature at the site, the length of exposure
period, and the susceptibility of the pest to be
controlled. The typical single family home
fumigation involves the use of a 16-18 ounces/1000
cubic foot. |
Fumigation period: |
|
Vikane is usually held in the
structure for approximately 16-20 hours. Fumigation
time is depending upon the factors mentioned
previously. |
Aeration: |
|
The aeration period is usually
8-10hours. During the aeration, the fumigator
aerates the structure with operable doors and
windows open and with the aid of a fan for a full
hour before securing the structure and allowing a
total of six to eight hours of additional aeration. |
Entering the structure: |
|
Absolutely no one can enter a
structure until it has been certified safe for
re-entry by the licensee in-charge of the
fumigation. To ensure that even the owner or tenant
cannot reenter a structure, the company is required
to put a secondary lock on all outside doors that
only the company can open.
